Soma

Soma is the largest town in Lower River Division, located on the south bank of the Gambia River at the junction of the Trans-Gambia Highway. It is an important market and transport centre with a lively atmosphere, serving as the commercial hub for the surrounding agricultural area. The town sits near the river ferry crossing.

By plane: Banjul International Airport (BJL IATA) is 140 km west. By car/road: regular bush taxis from Banjul (3 hours) and Brikama (2 hours). Soma is on the Trans-Gambia Highway connecting the north and south banks.
