About Ouessant
Ouessant (Ushant in English, Enez Eusa in Breton) is a remote island at France's westernmost point, marking the entrance to the English Channel. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with wild, windswept landscapes, treeless moors, and a rugged coastline punctuated by some of Europe's most powerful lighthouses. The island has a small year-round population of about 800, rising in summer, and is a haven for birdwatchers, hikers, and those seeking isolation.
