About Geta

Geta is a rugged island municipality at the northern tip of the Åland archipelago, known for dramatic coastal cliffs, sea caves, and the popular Geta hiking trail. With a population of around 500, it is one of the more remote and wild parts of Åland. The landscape features steep rocky shores, dense birch forests, and sweeping views across the open sea. The island is connected to the main Åland island by bridge.

Mariehamn Airport (MHQ) is approximately 50 km south.

By Train

By Car / Road

Geta is accessible by road from Mariehamn (approximately 50 km, 1 hour). The road passes through farmland and forest.

Cycling and driving are the main options. Walking is excellent along the hiking trails.
