Pertunmaa

Pertunmaa was a small rural municipality (population around 1,500) that separated from Mäntyharju in 1926 and was known as a popular summer cottage destination. It had two population centres: the town centre of Pertunmaa and Kuortti. On 1 January 2025, Pertunmaa merged back into Mäntyharju, reversing the century-old split; the area is now part of Mäntyharju.

Pertunmaa (now part of Mäntyharju) sits north of highway 5, between Mäntyharju and Heinola.
