About Maloma

Maloma is a rural locality in south-eastern Shiselweni Region, situated in the hot lowveld near the border with South Africa. The area is known for Maloma Colliery, an operational coal mine that is one of Eswatini's few mineral extraction sites. Surrounding the mine are traditional homesteads, cattle posts, and dry savannah landscape.

The climate is semi-arid and very hot. Rainfall is low and unreliable. Maloma has no tourist infrastructure and is a working industrial and agricultural zone rather than a tourism destination.
