Vysoké Mýto is a small city in the Pardubice Region of eastern Bohemia, situated on the high plateau between the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers. The town is known for its well-preserved Renaissance town hall and its association with the bus manufacturer SOR Libchavy, one of the largest bus manufacturers in the Czech Republic. Founded in the 13th century, Vysoké Mýto was historically an important market town on the trade route between Prague and Moravia.

The town features a large, pleasant main square with a Renaissance town hall, several churches, and a small museum. The surrounding landscape is flat to gently rolling agricultural land. The climate is continental with four distinct seasons. Vysoké Mýto has a population of approximately 12,000 and offers a quiet, authentic small-town atmosphere.

The nearest international airport is Prague (PRG), approximately 130 km away. Pardubice Airport (PED) is about 25 km north.

By Train

Vysoké Mýto has a railway station on a branch line from Pardubice. Trains from Pardubice take approximately 30 minutes.

By Car / Road

Driving from Prague takes approximately 1.5 hours. From Pardubice the drive is about 25 minutes. Roads are well-maintained.

The town centre is compact and walkable. Regional buses serve nearby towns. A car is useful for exploring the broader region.
