Strovolos
Lefkosia, Cyprus
Why visit Strovolos?
Strovolos (Greek: Στρόβολος) is the second-largest municipality in Cyprus by population (after Limassol) and the largest suburb of the Nicosia metropolitan area. It has grown from a small rural village into a sprawling, modern urban municipality that functions as a major administrative, financial, and residential hub.
Strovolos hosts the headquarters of many major Cypriot banks and corporations, the Strovolos Municipal Theatre, and several large parks, including the landmark Acropolis Park. The municipality is bordered to the west by the Pedieos River, which features a lush linear park running through its territory.
The climate is semi-arid, with extremely hot, dry summers and mild winters. While Strovolos is primarily a residential and commercial area rather than a tourist destination, it offers excellent shopping, parks, cultural venues, and dining options.
