Why visit Manuel Tames?

Manuel Tames is a small municipality in the Guantánamo province, located in the interior of the region. Named after a local revolutionary figure, the municipality is characterised by agricultural land, hills, and scattered farming communities. The economy is based on coffee, cacao, tobacco, and cattle farming.

The terrain is hilly with a mix of agricultural land and tropical vegetation. The population is small and spread across rural villages. The area is off the beaten tourist track, offering an authentic experience of rural Cuban life in the Guantánamo highlands.

The climate is tropical with a rainy season from May to October and drier conditions from November to April. The hilly terrain brings slightly cooler temperatures. The dry season is the best time to visit.
