Manzanillo is a destination in Limón province, Costa Rica. Located in limón province on the caribbean coast has a distinct afro-caribbean culture, lush rainforests, and pristine beaches, Manzanillo offers visitors a chance to experience authentic Costa Rican culture and natural beauty. The area is characterized by tropical and humid year-round, with rainfall throughout the year (heavier Sept-Nov and Jan-Feb). Temperatures 25-30°C.

By Plane
Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, about 100-160 km west (2-3 hours); Limón Airport has limited domestic service. From the airport, Manzanillo can be reached by rental car, private transfer, or public bus.
By Train
Costa Rica has limited passenger rail service. Reaching Manzanillo by train is not practical.
By Car / Road
Manzanillo is accessible by road from major cities in Costa Rica. From San José, the drive takes approximately 2-4 hours depending on the specific route and road conditions. Local buses connect Manzanillo to nearby towns and the provincial capital.
