About Hinda

Hinda is a small market town on the RN1 highway in Kouilou department, approximately 40 km north of Pointe-Noire. The town serves as a local trading centre for the surrounding agricultural and fishing communities, with a daily market, a few shops, and eateries lining the highway. The landscape around Hinda is coastal savanna, with patches of gallery forest along seasonal streams.

The climate is tropical coastal, with a dry season from June to September and a rainy season from October to May. Temperatures range from 22°C to 30°C (72–86°F), moderated by the Atlantic breeze.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Pointe-Noire (PNR), 40 km south, with domestic and international flights.

By Train

No railway access. The Congo-Ocean Railway line passes through Pointe-Noire.

By Car / Road

Hinda is directly on the RN1 highway, 40 km north of Pointe-Noire (45 minutes) and approximately 60 km south of Kakamoeka. Shared taxis and minibuses on the Pointe-Noire–Kakamoeka route pass through regularly. Fares are XAF 1,500–2,500.

The town is compact and walkable, clustered around the RN1 junction.
