Overview

Logone-Oriental (Eastern Logone) is a province in southern Chad, in the Logone River basin. It is a productive agricultural region growing cotton, rice, groundnuts, and sorghum. The provincial capital is Doba, which became a focal point of Chad's oil industry in the 2000s with the development of the Doba oil fields and the Chad–Cameroon pipeline.

The population is predominantly Sara and Laka. The climate is tropical with a distinct wet season from May to October.

When to Visit

The dry season (November–April) is the best time for travel. Heavy rains from May to October can flood roads.
