Ngouri

Lac, Chad

About Ngouri

Ngouri is a settlement on the shore of Lake Chad in Lac province. Fishing and small-scale farming along the lake's fertile fringe support the community. The village sits on a slight rise above the shoreline, giving views across the lake. The daily catch of tilapia and Nile perch is dried or smoked on racks along the shore, and the distinctive smell of smoked fish hangs over the village.
