About Ngouboua

Ngouboua is a remote fishing village on the northern shore of Lake Chad in Lac province, one of the most isolated settlements on the Chadian side of the lake. The journey to reach it is challenging, but the reward is an authentic glimpse of lake life far from any tourist trail. The village consists of reed huts scattered along a sandy beach, with pirogues pulled up on the shore and fishing nets hanging to dry.
