Mundemba

Mundemba is a town in Ndian Division, South-West Region, and serves as the gateway and headquarters town for Korup National Park — Cameroon's first rainforest national park, established in 1986 and covering some 1,260 square kilometres of mostly undisturbed primary forest, reputed to be among Africa's oldest and richest in biodiversity, with over 100 mammal species, 435 bird species, and roughly 170 reptile and amphibian species. A tourist information centre in the town centre organizes visits to the park, whose only official entrance is at the Mana bridge, about 8km from town.

By Plane

The nearest major airport is Douala International Airport; Mundemba is reached from there or from Buea by road, a drive of around 5 hours.

By Car / Road

The town is connected by road to other centres in Ndian Division and onward to the rest of the South-West Region, though roads can be difficult in the wet season.

Moto-taxis are available for local transport, and the park entrance at Mana bridge is reached by vehicle or on foot from town.
