Nkambe

North-West, Cameroon

Why visit Nkambe?

Nkambe is the capital of Donga-Mantung Division in Cameroon's North-West Region, sitting at the northern edge of the Bamenda Grassfields on the northeast arc of the Ring Road, the farthest point of that circuit from Bamenda. Most residents of Nkambe Central belong to the Wimbum people, whose three constituent clans speak the Limbum language. Like the rest of the North-West Region, the town has been affected by the Anglophone Crisis, the armed conflict between government forces and separatist fighters running since 2017; travellers should check the current security situation before planning a visit.
