Bagassi

Bagassi is a small agricultural town in southern Boucle du Mouhoun region, located in Balé Province near the Mouhoun River. The town is surrounded by cotton, maize, and millet fields. The population is predominantly Mossi and Bwaba. Bagassi is characteristic of the many small farming communities that dot the Boucle du Mouhoun landscape.

The town's architecture features traditional Mossi round-hut compounds with thatched roofs and, increasingly, rectangular buildings with corrugated metal roofs. Life is slow and revolves around farming cycles. Bagassi is not a tourist destination in its own right but serves as a representative example of Mossi rural life.

By Car / Road

Bagassi is reached from Boromo (approx. 30–40 km) via secondary unpaved roads. Bush taxis may connect Bagassi to Boromo on market days.

Bagassi is entirely walkable.

Bagassi has very limited dining options. Local households may offer meals with prior arrangement. The nearest restaurants are in Boromo (30–40 km). Bring supplies if planning to stay.
