About Belovo

Belovo is a town in southwestern Bulgaria, located where the Yadenitsa river flows into the Maritsa, at the foot of three mountain ranges: Rila, Rhodopes, and Sredna Gora. It lies at the western edge of the Upper Thracian Plain. Belovo became an important wood-processing centre in the 19th century with the construction of the Istanbul–Belovo railway line by Baron Hirsch. Today it is the administrative seat of Belovo Municipality.
