About Pomorie
Pomorie (Bulgarian: Поморие) is a town and seaside resort on the southern Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, known for its deposits of healing mud and ancient salt works. With a population of over 14,000, it lies about 14 km north-east of Burgas, roughly halfway between Burgas and the Nesebar-Sunny Beach resort area. The town occupies a large peninsula, and a long sand spit creates a large lagoon, Lake Pomorie, used for salt production since Antiquity. Established in the 5th or 4th century BCE as a Greek colony named Anchialos ("near the salt"), Pomorie has a rich history spanning Thracian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods.

The Monastery of Saint George is an active Eastern Orthodox monastery open to visitors. The History Museum and Lake Pomorie with its mud pools are also worth visiting. WW2 bunkers dot the coastline.
Take healing mud baths — Pomorie is famous for its mineral-rich sea mud used for therapeutic treatments. Visit the Salt Museum to observe traditional salt evaporation.
