About Satau
Satau is a small village in the Chobe District of northern Botswana, situated near the Namibian border west of Kasane. The settlement lies within the Chobe River catchment area, surrounded by mopane savanna and seasonal floodplains. Satau is a rural community whose residents are primarily engaged in subsistence farming and livestock rearing. The village is off the main tourist route, with no dedicated visitor infrastructure.

Satau is accessible via unpaved roads branching west from the Kasane–Katima Mulilo highway. A 4x4 vehicle is essential. Driving time from Kasane is about 1.5–2 hours.
The village is compact and walkable. A private vehicle is needed for travel to Kasane or Namibia.
