Haradok

Haradok (Гарадок) is a small town of about 12,000 people in Viciebskaja voblasć, located near the border with Russia, 40 km north of Vitebsk. First mentioned in the 13th century, it was a frontier fortress of the Principality of Vitebsk. The town has a compact historic centre with a market square and several 19th-century buildings. The surrounding lakes and forests make it a popular weekend destination for Vitebsk residents. The climate is continental: warm summers (17–23°C) and cold winters (−5 to −10°C).

Vitebsk Airport (VTB) is about 30 km south. Taxi costs BYN 40–50 (25 min).

By Train

Haradok has a railway station on the line to Nevel (Russia), with trains from Vitebsk (1 hr, BYN 3–5).

By Car / Road

From Vitebsk, take the P115 north — about 40 km (40 min). Roads are in fair condition. Buses from Vitebsk run frequently (1 hr, BYN 4).

The town is walkable. Taxis cost BYN 5–7.
