Shchuchyn

Shchuchyn (Shchuchin) is a town in western Hrodzienskaja voblasć with a population of about 16,000. First mentioned in the 15th century, it was historically a private town of various noble families. The Drutsky-Lubecki family built a palace complex here in the 18th century, which now houses a college. The town has an interesting 18th-century church and some Stalinist-era architecture from the post-war reconstruction. Shchuchyn is primarily an agricultural service centre for the surrounding farmland.

Shchuchyn has a railway station on the line from Hrodna to Lida. Trains from Hrodna (1 hr) and Lida (40 min).

From Hrodna, take the P-41 road east. About 60 km, 50 minutes.
