Katik

Xocalı, Azerbaijan

Why visit Katik?

Katik is a small village in the Xocalı District of Azerbaijan, located in the mountainous terrain of the Lesser Caucasus in the Karabakh region. Like many settlements in the district, it is a rural community whose traditional economy was based on livestock grazing and small-scale agriculture. The area was affected by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and came under Azerbaijani control in 2023.

The climate is mild with warm summers and cold winters. Spring and autumn offer the most moderate temperatures.

Katik is a remote, quiet village with minimal infrastructure. It appeals to travellers interested in off-the-beaten-path rural Karabakh.
