Charagah

Charagah is a village in Siyazan Rayon, northeastern Azerbaijan, located in the coastal lowlands near the Caspian Sea. The village is small and agricultural, with farming and livestock as the main activities. Charagah is a quiet rural settlement with no tourist infrastructure. The best time to visit is spring or autumn, when temperatures are comfortable.

By Plane

Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) in Baku, about 95 km southeast, is the nearest major airport. Travel to Siyazan (1 hour), then onward to Charagah by taxi (10 minutes).

By Car / Road

From Siyazan town centre, head north on the M1 highway for about 6 km, then turn east. A taxi from Siyazan costs 5–8 AZN.

Charagah is walkable in minutes.

• Beshbarmag views — The sacred peak is visible to the west on clear days.

• Village mosque — A small local mosque.

• Walking — Quiet walks through the village and coastal plain.

• Siyazan restaurants — Return to Siyazan for meals (5–12 AZN).

Bottled water is recommended.

• Siyazan accommodation — Charagah has no lodging. Stay in Siyazan (25–40 AZN per night).

• Zarat (5 km east, 8 min) — A coastal village with Caspian Sea beach access.

• Shabran (35 km north, 35 min) — Fortress ruins and the Nabran resort area.
