About Vurgun

Vurgun is a village in Ağstafa Rayon in northwestern Azerbaijan, situated on the agricultural lowlands of the rayon. It is a small settlement where residents farm grain, cotton, and tend livestock. The village is named after the famous Azerbaijani poet Samad Vurgun and has a quiet, rural character.

The terrain is flat with irrigated farmland. The climate is moderate continental: warm summers (28–34 °C), cold winters (−2–6 °C). Spring and autumn are the best seasons.

Vurgun has no tourist infrastructure and is relevant to those exploring rural Ağstafa Rayon.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Ganja International Airport (KVD), approximately 75 km southeast. A taxi from Ganja costs 15–20 AZN (1 hour).

By Train

No railway station. The nearest is in Agstafa (10 km). From Agstafa, take a taxi to Vurgun.

By Car / Road

From Ganja, take the M2 northwest to Agstafa (70 km), then local roads to Vurgun (10 km). From Baku, approximately 435 km (5 hours).

Walk. No local transport. Taxi from Agstafa.
