Why visit Catumbela?
Catumbela is a town in Benguela Province, situated between Benguela and Lobito just inland from the Atlantic coast. It is best known as the location of Catumbela Airport (CBT), the main air gateway for the entire Benguela–Lobito conurbation. The town sits on the Catumbela River, which flows from the highlands into the Atlantic. It is a former railway and industrial centre with a relaxed, workaday character. The climate is mild and arid year-round, with a short rainy season from February to April.
