Good to Know

Best time to go

June falls in the green/low season with warm days, short tropical showers, and lower rates. Andaman-coast boat trips can be weather-dependent, so keep beach days flexible.

Getting around

The route links five regions with two short domestic flights (Phuket to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai to Bangkok) and private cars for the beach and northern legs. Book flights early for the best fares.

Entry and visa

Many nationalities enter Thailand visa-free or with visa-on-arrival for short stays. Confirm your own passport's rules and validity well before travel.

Money and tipping

Carry some Thai baht in cash for transfers, markets, and small vendors; cards are widely accepted at hotels and malls. Some transfers are paid in cash to the driver.

Pacing

Two nights in each base keeps the trip moving but full. If you prefer a slower pace, add a night in Chiang Mai or Bangkok and trim one beach stop.
