Rainforest cable cars, mangrove rivers and George Town's heritage streets
View Day-by-DayBoth legs use short domestic flights (Langkawi-Penang is about 35 minutes). Grab and taxis are easy on both islands; a private car helps for the SkyCab and mangrove jetty.
Langkawi is the beach-and-nature half of the trip; George Town is the walkable heritage-and-food half. Splitting four nights and three nights keeps young children comfortable.
The Langkawi SkyCab, private Kilim mangrove tour and Penang Hill funicular all reward advance booking, especially over holidays. Express-lane funicular tickets skip the longest queues.
Langkawi is a duty-free island, so chocolates, cosmetics and souvenirs are notably cheaper here than on the mainland.
Attraction pricing is modest: the Penang Hill funicular runs about RM 80 per adult and RM 40 per child (express lane, return). Hotels may add small local city and resort fees payable on-site.
