Good to Know

Fast boat timings

Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan runs about 75 minutes; arrive at the port at least an hour early. Return crossings can include stops at Nusa Penida or Lembongan and take longer, so keep departure-day plans flexible.

Getting around Gili T

Gili Trawangan is car- and motorbike-free. Explore on foot, by bicycle, or by cidomo (pony cart) — the island loop makes an easy afternoon ride.

Diving & snorkelling

Snorkelling tours visit Gili Meno, Gili Air and a turtle sanctuary; a shared GoPro and glass-bottom boat are common inclusions. Leave a gap of at least 18-24 hours between your last dive and flying home.

Temple etiquette

A sarong and sash are required at temples such as Tirta Empul; bring a change of clothes for the Melukat purification ceremony as you will get wet.

Best time to visit

December falls in the wetter season with short afternoon showers. Plan outdoor adventures and boat crossings for the morning and keep spa or resort time as a rainy-hour fallback.
