Kezi

Kezi is a village in Matabeleland South, approximately 80 km south of Bulawayo. It is the gateway to the southern section of Matobo National Park, one of Zimbabwe's most important wildlife and cultural heritage areas. The village has basic services and is the last supply point before entering the southern Matobo Hills.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Bulawayo (BUQ, 80 km north, 1.5 hours).

By Train

No passenger train service.

By Car / Road

Kezi is 80 km south of Bulawayo on a tarred road (1.5 hours). Minibus kombis from Bulawayo serve the route.

The village is walkable. A vehicle is needed for Matobo National Park.

• Matobo National Park (southern entrance): Spectacular balancing granite rocks, San rock art, and rhino tracking.

• Rhino tracking in Matobo: Guided walking safaris to see black and white rhino.

• San rock art viewing: Guided visits to ancient cave paintings at Bambata, Inanke, and Nswatugi caves.

• Basic eateries: Simple cooked meals.

Bottled water is recommended.

• Matobo National Park accommodation: Mtshelele, Mwewe, and other Zimparks camps (US$20–40).
• Private lodges in the Matobo Hills (US$50–150).

• Bulawayo (80 km north, 1.5 hours) — Zimbabwe's second city.
• Gwanda (100 km south-east, 2 hours) — provincial capital.
