Sayhut

Al Mahrah, Yemen

Why visit Sayhut?

Sayhut is a coastal town in Al Mahrah Governorate, on the Arabian Sea west of Al Ghaydah, and the seat of Sayhut District. The district's population was recorded at roughly 11,700 in a 2003 census. Sayhut has wide beaches and the remains of old trading structures reflecting the town's history as a stop on the Arabian Sea coastal trade routes. Like the rest of Al Mahrah's coast, it lies within reach of the khareef, the southwest monsoon that brings cloud and drizzle to the region roughly from June to early September.
