Ba Tơ is a mountainous district in southern Quảng Ngãi province, known for its historical significance during the Vietnam War. The district was a stronghold of the Viet Cong and the site of the Ba Tơ uprising in 1945, which is commemorated locally. The landscape is rugged and forested, with mountains, rivers, and ethnic minority villages, primarily home to the H're people. Ba Tơ town is the district capital.
The climate is tropical monsoon, with a pronounced rainy season from September to December. The dry season from January to August is the best time to visit.

Chu Lai Airport (VCL IATA) is approximately 70 km north, with domestic flights.
By Car / Road
Ba Tơ is connected to Quảng Ngãi City by provincial roads, approximately 50 km south. Buses run from Quảng Ngãi City bus stations to Ba Tơ town.
Motorbike taxis and local buses serve the district. A motorbike is the best way to explore the mountainous terrain.
