Dien Chau
Nghệ An, Viet Nam
Why visit Dien Chau?
Diễn Châu is a coastal district in eastern Nghệ An province, approximately 40 km north-east of Vinh, stretching along the South China Sea coast. The district is known for its combination of agricultural lowlands, fishing communities, and important Buddhist pagodas that draw pilgrims from across the region. Diễn Châu offers a less-developed coastal experience than Cửa Lò, with quiet beaches and a relaxed rural atmosphere. The area is also noted for its traditional craft villages producing salt, fish sauce, and woven products.
The best time to visit is from April to September for beach activities. October to March sees cooler weather but is pleasant for temple visits and exploring the countryside.
