Tan Hung

Long An, Viet Nam

Why visit Tan Hung?

Tân Hưng is a rural district of Long An Province, Vietnam, located in the western part of the province along the Cambodian border. It is one of the most remote and sparsely populated districts of Long An, situated in the Đồng Tháp Mười (Plain of Reeds) wetland region, approximately 110 km west of Ho Chi Minh City and 85 km west of Tan An.

The district capital is the town of Tân Hưng. The area is characterised by its vast rice fields, extensive canal networks, and floodplain ecosystem. The district borders Vĩnh Hưng to the north, Kiến Tường to the northeast, Tân Thạnh to the east, and the Cambodian province of Svay Rieng to the west. The climate is tropical monsoon with severe flooding during the rainy season (August–November). The best time to visit is the dry season from December to April when roads are passable and the landscape is green with maturing rice.
