Why visit Kim Bang?

Kim Bảng is a district-level town in western Hà Nam province, covering 175.4 km² with a population of approximately 146,000. It became a town in January 2025, having previously been a rural district. The town is situated at the intersection of National Highways 21A, 21B, 21C, and 38, making it a transport hub for the region. Its terrain is diverse: the eastern part sits on the low-lying floodplains of the Đáy and Nhuệ rivers, while the southwest rises into limestone mountains on the edge of the Hòa Bình plateau.

Kim Bảng has a long history dating back to the 9th century, when it was known as Cổ Bảng rural district. In recent years it has gained prominence as a destination for spiritual tourism, centred on the Tam Chúc national tourist area. The town is also known for its traditional craft villages, including ceramics, woodworking, embroidery, and weaving.

The climate is humid subtropical. The best time to visit is from October to April, when temperatures are comfortable and rainfall is low. Summer (May–September) is hot and wet, with the low-lying areas prone to flooding during heavy rain.
