Chu Pah
Gia Lai, Viet Nam
Why visit Chu Pah?
Chu Pah is a district in central Gia Lai province, located about 30 km north-west of Pleiku. The area is known for its red basalt soil, which supports extensive coffee and rubber plantations that are the backbone of the local economy. Chu Pah is one of the key coffee-producing districts of the Central Highlands, and its landscape is defined by rolling hills of coffee bushes interspersed with rubber and pepper vines. The district town is small and quiet, with a predominantly agricultural rhythm of life. The indigenous Jarai and Bahnar ethnic minorities make up a significant portion of the population, and traditional culture remains visible in the surrounding villages.
The climate is typical of the Central Highlands — mild year-round with a wet season from May to October and a dry season from November to April.
