Why visit Phan Thiet?

Phan Thiet is the capital city of Binh Thuan Province in Southern Vietnam, situated along the coast about 200 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Known historically as a fishing port and fish-sauce producing hub, Phan Thiet has grown into a regional economic and administrative centre while retaining its traditional market-town character. The city's coastline stretches for many kilometres, blending urban beaches, fishing harbours, and the famous resort strip of Mui Ne to the northeast.

The climate is tropical monsoon with two distinct seasons: the dry season (November–April) brings sunny weather and calm seas, while the rainy season (May–October) sees short downpours and stronger winds. The best time to visit is December to March when temperatures are pleasant and rainfall minimal. Phan Thiet serves as the transport gateway for the entire province, with all major routes converging here.

Public buses (routes 1 and 9) connect the city centre with Mui Ne and Ham Tien, running roughly 06:00–19:00 every 20–30 minutes for 8,000–11,000 dong. Renting a motorbike is a good option for exploring the wider area.
