Toga

Torba, Vanuatu

About Toga

Toga is a small coral island in the Torres Islands group of Torba Province, Vanuatu, located just south of Hiw. Like its northern neighbour, Toga is a raised limestone island with sheer cliffs, a forested central plateau, and fringing coral reefs. It is among the most traditional and least-visited islands in Vanuatu. The small population lives in a handful of villages on the plateau, maintaining a subsistence lifestyle based on fishing, gardening, and coconut cultivation. There is no tourist infrastructure, and visitors are rare.

The climate is tropical and wet. The dry season (May to October) offers the best window for travel. The wet season (November to April) can make boat access difficult.
