Why visit Akoren?
Akören is a district of southwestern Konya Province, formerly known as Akviran until renamed in 1961 and granted district status in 1987. Settlement in the area dates back to roughly 7,000–6,500 BC, and the district has yielded Hittite, Roman, and Byzantine-era archaeological finds — Greek inscriptions, terracotta fragments, and architectural remains — at sites including Dinorna, Karahüyük, and Gavurlar Bath.
