Why visit Daday?
Daday is a district town in central Kastamonu Province, located in a forested mountain area. Under the Candarid beylik it was one of the region's larger administrative centres between Kastamonu and Ankara, and it passed to Ottoman rule under Mehmed the Conqueror; in the Ottoman period it was known as a summer retreat for pashas and palace officials. The district centre has a historic government building (hükümet konağı) dating to 1891.
