Kağızman is a district of Kars Province in far eastern Turkey, about 72 km from Kars city, with the Aras River running along its northern edge. It was the administrative center of the Kağızman Okrug of Kars Oblast until 1918. The district has several historic fortifications, including Tunç Kaya (Keçivan) Castle and Köroğlu Castle, as well as the Çengilli Church. Kağızman is also known for rock salt and gypsum deposits.
