Why visit Imamoglu?

İmamoğlu is an agricultural district center in Adana Province, situated in the northeastern section of the Çukurova plain in southern Turkey. Positioned 45 km northeast of Adana city along the D815 highway connecting the provincial capital to Kozan, the town serves as a market hub for surrounding farming villages that grow citrus, wheat, corn, cotton, watermelons, and sunflowers.

Most travelers pass through İmamoğlu while traveling between Adana, the Cilician fortress route around Kozan, and the Taurus mountain passes. The district contains several unexcavated archaeological ruins, most notably the rock-cut Altınini Underground City in Çörten village, alongside the spring-fed recreation area at Kazangölü (Pınargözü).

The local climate is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Summer daytime highs routinely exceed 40°C in July and August with high humidity from plain irrigation. Winters remain mild, with daytime temperatures averaging 12°C to 16°C and rare nighttime frosts.
