It is a gateway to the Aladağlar National Park (Aladağlar Milli Parkı), one of Turkey's most spectacular mountain ranges with peaks reaching over 3,700 m. The town itself is small and quiet, serving as a base for hikers and climbers.

The climate is alpine — summers are cool and pleasant, while winters are cold with heavy snowfall. The best time for trekking and climbing is June to September.

By Plane

Çukurova Airport (COV IATA) near Adana is about 120 km south, about 2 hours by road.

By Car / Road

Aladağ is about a 1.5-hour drive north of Adana via the D-815. From the town, mountain roads lead to the national park trailheads. Limited minibus services run from Adana.

A car is essential for reaching trailheads and exploring the area. The town centre is walkable.
