Why visit Wang Chin?

Wang Chin (วังชิ้น) is a district in southern Phrae province, covering 1,217 km² with a population of about 48,000. It lies in the Phi Pan Nam Mountains and is home to Wiang Kosai National Park, one of Phrae's premier natural attractions. The district was originally part of Mueang Lampang district before being reassigned to Long district in 1930, established as a minor district in 1939, and upgraded to a full district in 1958.

Wang Chin's landscape is dominated by forested mountains, columnar basalt rock formations, and several rivers. The climate follows the tropical savanna pattern, with the cool season (November to February) being the best time to visit.
