Tell Rifaat is a town in the Ḩalab (Aleppo) Governorate of northern Syria, located about 40 km north of Aleppo. Its name comes from the prominent archaeological tell (mound) that marks the site of an ancient settlement. The town has been strategically important during the Syrian conflict, changing hands between various factions. It lies in a predominantly agricultural area.
The climate is semi-arid: hot summers and cool, rainy winters. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit.

Aleppo International Airport (ALP) is about 50 km south. A taxi costs around SYP 12,000–18,000 and takes about 45 minutes.
By Car / Road
Tell Rifaat is on the road from Aleppo to Azaz, about 40 km (40 minutes) north of Aleppo. Shared microbuses from Aleppo serve Tell Rifaat (fare about SYP 2,000–4,000).
