Why visit Santa Cruz de La Palma?
Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital of La Palma, a beautifully preserved port city with a stunning architectural heritage. Its main street, Calle Real (or Calle O'Daly), is lined with colourful colonial balconies and traditional Canarian wooden galleries, making it one of the most attractive historic centres in the Canary Islands.

By Plane
The nearest airport depends on the island (TFS, TFN, ACE, LPA, FUE, SPC, VDE, GMZ). Taxis and car hire are available at all airports.
By Car / Road
Hire car is the most practical way to explore. Roads are well maintained, though some interior routes are winding and narrow. Free parking is generally available outside town centres.
Within towns, walking is the best option. For inter-town travel, public guaguas (buses) are reliable and affordable. Taxis are metered and available in larger towns. Car hire offers the most flexibility for exploring the island.
What are the things to do?

Walk along Calle Real to admire the colonial architecture and wooden balconies.
