Graus

Graus ( Spanish: [ˈɡɾaus], Catalan: [ˈɡɾaws]) is a village in the Spanish province of Huesca, It is noted for its impressive Basilica de Santa Maria de la Pena and for a nearby Buddhist monastery. It is one of the areas of Aragon where the Aragonese language is still spoken.

It is the administrative capital of the comarca of Ribagorza, and is home to about 3,300 people (2018).

By Plane

Zaragoza Airport (ZAZ) serves the region with flights from several European cities. A taxi to the city centre costs around €20–25. Alternatively, Madrid-Barajas (MAD) is about 1 hour 15 minutes by AVE train.

By Train

Zaragoza-Delicias station is a major AVE hub with frequent services from Madrid (1h15) and Barcelona (1h30). Regional trains serve Huesca, Teruel, and other towns.

By Car / Road

The A-2 motorway links Zaragoza with Madrid and Barcelona. The A-23 connects Zaragoza with Teruel and Valencia. Bus services from ALSA cover most towns. Driving from Madrid to Zaragoza takes about 3 hours.

Walking is the best way to explore Graus's historic centre. Local buses serve the wider urban area, and taxis are affordable for shorter trips. Ride-hailing apps like Uber and Cabify operate in larger cities. For day trips to surrounding attractions, consider renting a car or joining organised tours.
