It is a typical Prekmurje village, with traditional houses, farmlands, and vineyards scattered along quiet country lanes. The settlement's name reflects the Slovenian word "šafar" (steward), indicating its historical agricultural character.

Life in Safarsko moves at a relaxed pace, centred around farming, seasonal agricultural work, and community gatherings. The nearby Mura River provides opportunities for fishing and riverside walks in a peaceful natural setting.

The climate is continental, with warm summers (25–28°C) and cold winters. The best time to visit is May through September, when the countryside is green and outdoor activities are pleasant. There are no distinct neighbourhoods; Safarsko is a compact village surrounded by agricultural land.
