Hrpelje
Hrpelje-Kozina, Slovenia
Why visit Hrpelje?
Hrpelje is one of the two main settlements of the Hrpelje-Kozina municipality in southwestern Slovenia, situated in the karst landscape of the Slovenian Istria region, approximately 15 km east of Koper and the Adriatic coast. It is a small, compact village with a medieval core centred on a parish church and a traffic junction that connects the coastal highway with the road toward the Brkini hills and the interior. Hrpelje serves as a quiet residential base for exploring the broader Istrian karst, with its caves, vineyards, and fortified churches, while remaining close to the coastal towns of Koper, Izola, and Piran.
