Bukit Panjang, meaning "long hill" in Malay, is a planning area in northwestern Singapore. It is a mature HDB town developed from the 1980s, characterised by its hilly terrain, lush green spaces, and the Bukit Panjang LRT (Singapore's first light rail system). The area includes the Zhenghua Park Connector and the historic Cashew Road estate.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Changi Airport (SIN) is 28 km east, 35 min taxi ($35-42). MRT: take the Downtown Line from the airport to Bukit Panjang (DT1) direct — 60 min.

By Train

Bukit Panjang MRT (DT1) is the terminus of the Downtown Line, 35 min from Chinatown and 40 min from Bugis. The Bukit Panjang LRT loops around the town.

By Car / Road

Accessible via the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) and PIE. Parking at Junction 10 ($1.50-2.50/h).

Bukit Panjang LRT and buses (e.g., 75, 170, 173, 176, 177, 180, 184, 187, 190, 920, 922, 961, 970, 972, 975, 976, 979) provide coverage. Walkable around the MRT hub.
