Montalbo

Montalbo is a forested, hilly hamlet (curazia) situated on the northern slopes of Monte Titano, within the municipality of Città di San Marino. The area is famous for its lush forests of chestnut and oak trees, which cover the steep slopes of the mountain. Montalbo offers a quiet, natural environment and is crossed by several walking and hiking trails that lead up toward the capital.

The hamlet is primarily residential and natural, providing a peaceful retreat. Its proximity to both the historic capital and the lower town of Borgo Maggiore makes it a convenient location for nature lovers.

By Car / Road

Montalbo is reached by taking the winding roads (like via Montalbo) that ascend the northern side of Monte Titano. The drive from the capital of Città di San Marino is about 3 km (approx. 6 minutes).

Due to the steep, forested terrain, the area is best explored on foot along the marked walking paths. A car is recommended for transit to neighboring areas, as there is no regular bus service through the forested parts.
